Fergus Ewing MSP, Minister for Community Safety, opened the Conference which was a huge success with 600 people travelling to Perth from all over Scotland. School groups, youth representatives and older people's groups enjoyed presentations from the very best examples of intergenerational working.

The morning session included a presentation from two 'Grand', finalists of ITV's 2009 Britain's Got Talent competition. The grandfather and granddaughter act from Doncaster talked about their experience of singing together and performed some of the songs that helped them reach the final of the competition. Many other projects were showcased at the event including Generations Cooking Together, Generations Singing Together and the Youth for Old Bikes Scheme.

Around 200 delegates attended an informative and fruitful afternoon session which focused on building stronger, safer communities through intergenerational working. This included national speakers, workshops, discussion groups and networking time for policy makers, practitioners and senior staff in organisations supporting communities. Those not attending the afternoon session enjoyed an intergenerational group visit to the beautiful setting of Scone Palace where the sunny weather added to the success of the event.

Feedback from delegates has been extremely positive and many are already looking forward to next year's National Conference.
